Zentel contains Albendazole which is very effective in the treatment of parasitic worm infection. It is available in tablet and suspension. There are many brands which also contains albendazole and shows same effects like Zentel. They are – Noworm, Bandy, Zeebee, Kealworm, X Worm, Zybend, Mahabend, Vermitel, Xenda, Abwal and E Worm.

Uses

The Albendazole present in Zentel can a kill wide range of parasites which includes Tapeworm, Roundworm, Hookworm, Whipworm, Pinworm, Threadworm, and Giardia parasite.

Side Effects

A common side effect associated with Albendazole is stomach pain. Some rare side effects are headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, fever, and thinning of hair. Side effect associated with Albendazole are rare and not all the patient will have the side effects.

Precaution

1. It should not be administered to children below 1 year.
2. It is not recommended to use this medicine if you are pregnant or thought to be pregnant.
3. This medicine may cause dizziness. Avoid driving a vehicle or operate any machinery if you are using this medicine.
4. Patient with liver disease should inform the doctor before using this medicine.

How Zentel work?

In the presence of Zentel, the larval stage or adult stage of the parasite cannot be able to absorb glucose. Due to lack of energy, the parasite is immobilised and eventually dies. Zentel kills the eggs of the parasite by preventing the cell division.

Can I use Zentel during pregnancy?

Use of Zentel Tablet should be avoided if you are pregnant or thought to be pregnant. The Albendazole in Zentel has shown teratogenic and embryo toxic activity in animals.

Can I use Zentel during breastfeeding?

Very less amount of Albendazole [1.5% of maternal dose] gets secreted from breast milk, and it is unlikely to cause any harm to your baby. However, it is a good practice to consult your doctor before taking any medicine.

How many days should I take Zentel tablet?

For adult and children above 2 years of age: One Zentel 400 mg tablet for one day should be able to give you relief from a wide range of parasitic infection. However, dose and duration of medication may vary from patient to patient depending upon the type of infection. Follow your doctor’s order.

How to take Zentel tablet?

It is usually taken on an empty stomach but in some condition, you may need to take this medicine after food. You can take this medicine with water. In some patient, particularly children, may face difficulties in swallowing this medicine whole. In such a case, the child should be encouraged to chew the Zentel tablet with a little water, or you can crush the Zentel tablet.

How long does Zentel take to work?

Zentel start working straight away the moment you have taken the medicine, but it takes several days to show to affect, which is typically 2 to 3 days.

Zentel suspension dosage for 1-year-old?

5 ml of Zentel suspension (half bottle) in a single dose.

Zentel suspension dosage for 10 months old?

Zentel Suspension is not recommended in babies less than 12-month-old.

What to do if the worm still exists even after giving Zentel suspension?

If worm still exists then first wait for three weeks then start the second course of treatment.

Zentel syrup for 35-year-old?

10 ml of Zentel suspension (1 full bottle) in a single dose or 1 Zentel tablet can kill round worm, pin worm, hook worm and whip worm.

Should I do fasting after taking Zentel syrup?

Fasting is not required after taking Zentel syrup or Zentel tablet.
